SEO(Search Engine Optamizer) Tips

No SEO means no visitors from search engines. If you don’t do it then search engines can’t categorise and rank your site for keywords relevant to your business.
Both on-site SEO and off-site SEO are required. You can’t achieve good results doing one without the other.
Start doing SEO now. The longer you leave it to start, the further ahead your competitors will be, and the harder it becomes to rank higher than them.
Know your competition. Find out what the sites ranking on the 1st page for the keywords that you want to rank for have done, on-site and off-site, to get there.
No two websites are the same. An SEO strategy that worked for someone else’s site isn’t guaranteed to work for yours because there are so many variables.
SEO doesn’t have to be expensive. You can get big results on a small budget if you invest time in creating good content and building online relationships.
SEO results aren’t instant. The results of SEO work done today might not become apparent, and might not be credited by search engines, for weeks, or even months.
The newer your website is, the more patient you will need to be. It takes time to build authority and trust, and until you’ve developed both, you shouldn’t expect to outrank older, more established sites.
Never consider your website to be finished. If you want your site to continue to rank higher, attract more visitors and make more sales, then you should always be adding to and improving it.
Adapt to algorithm updates. To attain and retain good rankings you need to adapt your SEO strategy as search engines evolve over time.
You don’t need to submit your website to search engines. They have evolved beyond the point of needing to be directly notified when a new website, or page on a website, is created.
Get advice directly from Google. Via their Webmaster Guidelines and Webmaster Help Videos.
Don’t risk Google penalties. As they have a significant share of the search market, a penalty from them results in a significant, and often long-term, loss of visitors to your site.
You’re ultimately responsible for all of SEO work done on your website. Search engines won’t remove a penalty on the basis that you didn’t do, and didn’t know the specifics of, the SEO work on your site.

Here are simple steps you need to start making an income online and if you follow these steps as you are reading this article then you should be making money in no time.

Step 1: Sell your own product or find a product to sell.

The easy way to go about this is by using a place called clickbank. Here you can browse over 10,000 products. Clickbank is a marketplace for selling digital products (information). People love information and will buy it all the time. Think of something you know a lot about or something you are good at like maybe golf or cooking. Now find a product to promote that is related to what you are good at. Sign up for clickbank and get your nickname. Now visit the sales page for the product you chose and click near the bottom on the Affiliate Link. Here you will find out the link that you need to promote in order to sell the product as an affiliate. There you go, now every time someone clicks on your link and buys the product you will make some money. Now the problem is getting people to click on your link. If you are following the steps then you are already 1 step ahead of everyone else.

Step 2: Buy a domain name and hosting.

The key here is to buy a domain name that is easy to remember and includes some keywords related to your product. So if you are a master cooking expert and you want to sell products related to cooking or grilling out or something then like before, check out the Affiliate link on the salespage for the product you want to promote. There will usually be a list of keywords that you can use. For example you may want to buy the domain name www.top-griller.com - I have no idea if that name is taken but if you are selling a product about grilling then that would be a pretty good domain name to have. Here is the web host I use, they are inexpensive and very helpful and easy to use. You can go live and ask them anything and they are more often than not able to help you out.

Step 3: Create your review website.

What this means is that you will want to write a review about the product or products you chose to sell on your website. Check out this site for a good example of how to set up your website. I used Netscape

A domain is your website home (yoursitename.com). Registering a name is the first step to getting your site online.

This only takes a few minutes and you own the name as long as you pay the yearly fee.

I'll show you how to save a bit of money on the first year of registration below.

Let me prevent you from making a common mistake often made when building websites.

No one will take your website seriously hosted on some free host (where your address is freesite.yoursite.com instead of yoursite.com) so that's not a route I recommend based on some frustrating past experiences with free hosting.

I don't want you to join the hundreds of people who've emailed me over the years expressing their regrets because they had to move their entire site upon realizing the limitations of free hosting.

Save yourself the headaches and create your site correctly the first time. Trust me. You won't regret the decision. Plus, you'll have the comfort of knowing you actually own your site instead of renting it from another company.

I lost 6 websites at one time some years ago because I used a free host. All the money those sites were making went out the window just like that. So I had to start over.

Step 2: Sign Up With a Web Host
The web host houses your website files, videos, images, provides branded email addreses, etc. Most companies have many of the same features these days, it just comes down to cost and who you're comfortable with.

Now It's Time to Create Your Site
WordPress is the most popular website building option today. It comes free with any paid hosting package at Website Palace. You simply install it from the control panel with a few clicks of your mouse.

With WordPress, you can create a blog where the content is ordered newest to oldest and by category, or you can create a more traditional/static site like this.

If you don't want to use WordPress, you'll either need software (Artisteer, Dreamweaver, etc.) or learn HTML and CSS from scratch.

Static websites do not have comments and plugins like WordPress, but they are ideal for very simple sites.

NOTE: As mentioned, you can use WordPress to create a static website if you wish. You'll just have to disable the comments and configure the menus, etc. All the juicy details are in my WP Starter Guide.

a. Simply build a website on a topic you feel you can write a lot about.  Be prepared to build pages and pages on this topic.

b. Learn to optimize your site for the major free search engines.  The more pages you create, the more these engines will love your site and bring you traffic.

c. Next, join affiliate programs where they pay you to refer people to their products and services.  Most affiliate programs are free.  All you need is a website.

That's all you have to do!  I'll go into more detail below, but that is the recipe you need for success.  Yes, it takes patience and you should be prepared to work hard on building and promoting your site.  However, you CAN be extremely successful if you follow my guidelines below.

Steps to Financial Success With Your Website
1. Pick a topic.

This is more important than people think.  If you choose a topic you know very little about or have no interest in, your boredom factor goes up and you run the risk of losing interest in your site.

Remember, your goal is to build pages and pages of content.  This is easier to do if you have a genuine interest in the topic. Also, be sure your content is unique. Don't even think of copying from someone else's site.  Not only is it illegal, but search engines now penalize (ignore) duplicate content.

My favorite example of a successful site is Jeff Ostroff's www.carbuyingtips.com.  Like so many people, Jeff had some bad experiences with buying cars.  He was fed up with the lies and tricks so he built a site to educate and prevent others from being "had".

He affiliates himself with car buying companies and earns commissions when people buy products he recommends.  But what's more important is that he picked a topic that helps people.

That is such an important point because when you help someone or solve someone's problem, it actually build your credibility.  They are more likely to take your suggestions and recommendations seriously and you'll earn loyal visitors for life.

That's why it's so important to choose a topic that you have a personal interest in so you can take the time to build your site and make it useful.  See how Jeff's site is not lacking information at all.  He loves the topic of car buying so he doesn't have problems keeping it updated.

Now it's time for you to brainstorm and think of YOUR topic.  Everyone has a passion for some kind of issue or topic.  What do you know that can help others?  Acne tips, weight loss, investing, home repairs, sewing, golfing, buying a home -- I'm sure you can think of something.

2. Choose a web host - Another BIG step.

After you've decided on a topic, you are ready to build your website.  You'll need a web host for that. This is the company that helps  get your site online.  They provide you with the tools to create your pages and publish them to the Internet.

 There are two kinds of web hosts:

These kinds of hosts charge somewhere between $5 and $15 per month to host your site.  Yes, the prices are generally quite reasonable, but you are completely on your own.

You'll be responsible for learning how to build your pages and publish them to the web.  You can accomplish this through software like Microsoft FrontPage or you can learn to write HTML yourself.

If you don't mind the learning curve then this option is a good one for you.  You'll have the opportunity to learn about web programming and design.  Just remember these kind of web hosts do not help you with optimizing your site in the search engines, getting traffic, etc.
